That’s how much fuel Benjamin Roberts helped fleets purchase during his 7-year tenure at the largest fuel card provider in the United States.
During that time, Ben worked with hundreds of national and regional fleets — analyzing their fuel data, understanding their costs, and seeing firsthand exactly how much money fleets were leaving on the table at every truck stop fill-up.
He saw the problem clearly: fleets were overpaying, and nobody was truly in their corner.
So in 2021, Ben founded Fuel Mentor to change that. Not to represent fuel card companies. Not to serve truck stops. But to be the trusted adviser that trucking companies actually deserve.
We do one thing and we do it extremely well — help trucking companies get bigger fuel discounts from truck stops so they capture more savings and improve profitability.

Meet Ben
Benjamin Roberts spent a decade at the intersection of fuel pricing, fleet management, and discount negotiation — and he’s used every bit of that experience to build Fuel Mentor into the trusted fuel consulting firm it is today.
Ben understands something most people outside the industry don’t: the fuel discount you’re getting today is almost never the best discount available.
There’s a gap between what fleets are paying and what they could be paying — and that gap represents hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual savings.
Fuel Mentor exists to close that gap.
He holds a B.B.A. from Austin Peay State University and an M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Ben lives in Nashville, TN with his wife and their two boys — and he understands that every dollar saved on fuel goes back to the people who matter most: the families behind the fleets.
